Nicholas (Xiaoliang) Sun
Barrister and Solicitor
At York University in Toronto, Nicholas Sun double majored in business and society and law and society. He later received a Juris Doctor degree from Southampton Law School in the United Kingdom.
Before attending law school, Nicholas Sun gained substantial expertise in a variety of industries, working for a Toronto immigration law firm and several corporations with corporate law in Asian countries. Through his efforts, he has effectively facilitated the admission of a significant number of immigrant families and international students into Canada.
He currently practices family law, criminal law, and immigration law at Sunwood Law. In different jurisdictions across Ontario, he has represented clients in divorce, parenting time, and financial matters. His legal knowledge is notably apparent in high-conflict disputes, drug and alcohol addictions among parents, and CAS-involved files.
Additionally, he is offering significant support to a large number of clients who are contending with criminal charges, such as fraud, sexual assaults, simple assaults, impaired driving, theft of property, and other severe criminal offenses. He will advocate for the rights of clients with enhanced efficacy.
Nicholas Sun worked as a volunteer with the Toronto Region Branch of the United Nations Association in Canada, supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals at the community level, particularly for disadvantaged and Aboriginal communities.
Nicholas Sun has traveled to more than 40 countries to gain exposure to various cultures. He takes pleasure in preparing a variety of cuisines for his friends and family. In the summer, he collects classic automobiles and is passionate about horseback riding. He is capable of offering services in both Mandarin and English.

Sophie Cai
Immigration Consultant
Sophie Cai has provided assistance to a significant number of foreign workers and students from various countries in their immigration requirements to Canada. She is a licensed immigration consultant. She also worked on various complex files, such as Express Entry, LMIA, family sponsor files, and caregiver programs, to assist the clients in obtaining permanent residence status.
She holds a Graduate Certificate in Migration Studies from the University of British Columbia. She has gained professional skills in migration research and related fields, such as reconsideration of refused files and applying student and work visas. She also offers immigration support and guidance to both private and public schools in Ontario.
She is competent to work with sponsorship refusal appeals, inadmissibility hearings, and medical inadmissibility appeal files with the Canada Border Services Agency and humanitarian and compassionate applications.

Julia (Ye) Zhang
Senior Law Clerk and Chinese Law Counsel
Julia was a senior partner at a prestigious law firm in Shandong Province, China, prior to her retirement there. She has been employed as a lawyer in China for more than two decades and has acquired a plethora of experience in business litigation, civil litigation, particularly family law-related matters, and international investment.
Julia graduated from China University of Political Science and Law and has been provided with a thorough and organized education and training in the fields of legal assistantship and immigration since her arrival in Canada. She has served as a senior law clerk and legal assistant at several law firms in Ontario and Manitoba.
She is capable of assisting Sunwood Law clients in managing the complicated files that are associated with Canadian and Chinese jurisdiction.
Julia is a registered practicing lawyer in China and a Chinese law consultant for Sunwood Law Firm. She is competent to provide consulting and agency services in the context of Chinese laws.
